My name is Gralin and I decided to take a leap of faith and introduce myself to the forum. I am a beginner in the real estate world and want to get involved in what is vital in this day. I have a background in metrology/engineering so research and theory is something I find easy to do. Fortunately, I've been a home owner for a while so understanding what does and doesn't bring value to a home is understood. My goal is to be taught how to hunt for deals to wholesale them throughout the country and even get into some fix and flips so a mentor is key either with an individual or a group.

What are you offering in exchange for the mentorship you want? It's a lot to ask someone to give you their years of knowledge for nothing.
I'd advise looking for one locally, in person instead of on the forums. Your target mentor most likely isn't on here looking for a new apprentice. I'd also advise offering tailored services in exchange for the mentorship you're looking for.
When you approach these potential mentors I'd advise having a tailored pitch where you layout exactly what you'll do for them. If you say "I'll do anything", or even give them a list of things you can do, you're putting the burden on them to determine what to do with you and creating a larger barrier to entry for yourself.
