Can I rent to section 8 and still do the BRRRR tactic?
Hi, my name is Liam.
I've recently started exploring the idea of becoming a landlord and renting to Section 8 voucher holders. I'm curious as to how well this strategy aligns with the BRRRR method? If anyone with experience in this space is open to sharing insights, or even allowing me to shadow and learn from their process, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm also interested in hearing about the process of finding reliable contractors for property inspections, renovations, and preparing units for new tenants. I have some theoretical knowledge, but I'm ready to take the next step and put it into practice.
Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Hey, I’m still new myself so I don’t have direct experience with Section 8 yet, but from what I’ve seen it can actually work really well with BRRRR since you’re locking in consistent rent payments and reducing vacancy risk. The challenge seems to be making sure your rehab lines up with the housing authority’s inspection standards so you don’t get delayed. I’ve also heard a lot of people recommend building a small go-to team of contractors you can rely on, even if it takes time to find the right ones. Curious to hear from others who’ve actually done it, but wanted to share what I’ve learned so far.
