I read about a boy that became infected with the fatal protozoan species Naegleria fowleri while swimming in lake Havasu about a week ago.

It enters the nasal cavity, attaches to an olfactory nerve, migrates to the brain and the waste it produces destroys the brain. It is considered virtually 100% fatal at this point.

Right away "disclosures" came to mind.

We know many people moving to the area do so because they want to participate in some form of watersports (swimming etc).

At what point, does it become incumbant on the realtor to reveal only that it has occured.

Its existance in the water,if known to the buyer, may be a material fact in deciding to buy or not.

FYI

From what I have read, the risk can, albiet small , extend to warm water bodies, natural and man made, even hot tubs ,even food .

It can be tested for by using nucleic acid probe molecules for detecting Naegleria species , NFOW1 or NFOW2 specifically, but takes days to sample and test.
