Barndominium Financing in Florida

Charles C Blessing
Posted

Due to lack of housing in central Florida, we are pursuing the option of building a barndominium on the northern outskirts of Orlando.  We found 5 acres that have almost 2 acres of high/dry for $250k.  We're going to purchase the land with cash, but we'll need to finance the materials and build.  Before I go out taking credit hits all over the great state of Florida, does anyone have suggestions on what they have used for these type of builds or know someone that has built a barndo?  We would like to start the build immediately since our lease is up in 10 months.

Thanks

-Craig

Hi Charles, I'm following up to see how this project went. Were you able to secure funding?

We decided to purchase a traditional home for now, but pursuing a barndo for a second home later.  On another topic, we have a rental in Orlando that we purchased with cash earlier this year and I'm wanting to pull ~70% of the equity.  Do you or someone you know help with these types of cash back loans?

Condo, under LLC, owned for more than six months, looking to pull max equity of $240k appraisal.
