Maryland couple claim STRANGERS have moved into the $379K five-bedroom house they just bought and are REFUSING to leave

A Maryland couple signed a contract with US Bank to purchase the five-bedroom home at 10716 Dragoo Place in Clinton, Maryland

on Thursday only to find people moving into the home. The wife is said to have confronted the apparent squatters, but they showed her what they said is a lease to the property and refused to leave. But real estate agent Melea King said officers with the Prince George's Police Department determined the lease was 'not correct.'

The police department, however, said the issue appears to be a 'civil matter' for the sheriff's office.

That means the police won't arrest and the new owner's must evict and that can take months

I agree with Mike. Anyone closing on a house, check that it is vacant before you sign the papers...and go by that morning to confirm it.  It is easy to call your lawyer (or whoever is handling the closing) and put things on hold.

They can, and Im sure, will simply choose not to close on the house. Closing is scheduled for 10/28 on this property.

Couldn't you just hire/recruit 4 dudes to unlock the door and physically kick them out? What could they claim, that you kicked them out of your house?
