Buying real estate in Long Island, NY

I'm a newer investor, I live in Nassau county New York. I was wondering what would be the best town or area to start my investing experience? Also should I look for foreclosure? Thank you all for reading this looking forward to hear your opinions.

Start with towns or areas that you know well.  You need to know the values of properties, what buyers are looking for and what areas are more or less desirable.
