Looking at house next door

James Bolt
Posted

So i bought a duplex (4/2 & 4/1 1/2) with a built-in contractor that wants to bring it back to life: Alot of cosmetic repairs. The house next door

is truly 1 step away from the county condemning it. Bones are strong and I want to buy it: "again a built-in contractor". I wonder about back taxes, violation fines, are there anything else I should be looking for?

Make sure that the after-repair value is high enough to meet the costs of the project. Ohio is an interesting market where you can obtain properties at a good value, but rehab costs are relatively consistent across the US.
