Advice or thoughts on becoming a real estate appraiser

Posted

Hello,  I'm considering becoming a real estate appraiser to fully move myself into the Real Estate business.  I'm currently a real estate investor, but with a non real estate day job.   It seems like being an appraiser provides a more steady income than being an agent.  And it also seems like as an appraiser you would have more control over the hours, and also being in control of how much you work.  I know the amount you make in each role drastically varies on how successful you are and how much you work so it's hard to say which is a more lucrative career.  But if you have any insight on averages based on working a 40 hour week I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I'd love to hear from appraisers or agents on your thoughts on this?  Maybe my understanding of the day to day operations of being an appraiser are incorrect.   Thanks in advance!
