Name something you've learned from someone on BiggerPockets (podcast, forums, blog, whatever) and tag the person from whom you learned it. Name as many people as you want, but please limit your posts to one-person-per-post.
@Darren Sager It is my pleasure to help you in any way. You are truly one of the most committed people I know and you have accomplished so much on BP since you have been here. Not only in my professional life but in my personal life as well you have been a huge impact in the best way. Very excited for what the future holds and again thank you for everything!
@Ned Carey, @J Scott, @Nicole W I am extremely thankful to all of you for providing extremely useful and relevant information to invest in the state of Maryland. I appreciate all that you do and look forward to working with you in the future!
@jasonscott got me excited about real estate. He was so transparent, he made me believe I could do it.
@REtipster helped me and my partner @3citydave flesh out our strategy and get going. They both were very instrumental and influential in getting us started.
@Joe Fairless has helped me understand about multifamily syndication, and being in financing that I should make the jump and do my own deals.
@J. Martin is currently helping me in my marketing efforts to get a larger lending footprint within the Bay Area and expand my investor network not only amongst other BPers, but also within his own network, and has been a large support after meeting him at a Sacramento meetup he put together with @Al Williamson
I'll mention my first actual real life local contact first...and we still work together...my good friend and fellow musician, @Jerry Puckett
He's taught me the ins and outs of direct mail marketing, and given me some rather nerdy but effective ways of processing thoughts and defining some kind of plan, in all walks of life, not just RE.
Next up, the person who brought me here...because I was in the process of reading his blog from start to finish when I clicked a link to BP....and I was hooked!
Thanks for everything. I still use your blog(s) and posts here as motivation, several times a week. I even used your flip formula in two posts today :)
These rules are kinda silly @Brandon Turner but I'm sure you have your reasons.....
Next up @Jon Klaus . Asked him to lunch a couple years ago, maybe not quite that long. We enjoyed some Brazilian grilled meats and talked about what he does with his rural mobile home properties. Who would have thought we'd be where we are today? Always there to answer my questions, and loves email like I do :)
He's even helping me learn about development, which I never even thought I'd have an opportunity.
@Danny Johnson is my final one. Because I don't want to hijack the thread with lots more I could mention.
I follow Danny's blog, and I've emailed him personally about schools and things in San Antonio when I was looking at a job opportunity there. He thinks and talks (and writes) the way I think, and he's super likable and all about family and quality of life. Good life lessons from this dude and his wife.
I would like to thank everyone who has come out to my monthly meetups, who have given me great advice, opened my mind to all kinds of different investment ideas, rehab, landlording, and other tips.. and some great times and drinks!
@Account Closed and @Kathryn M. , for funds when I needed some for business deals. Minh has also provided a wealth of historical data and perspective, in addition to technical knowledge on a variety of real estate transaction aspects. I owe you dinner Minh! And lots of good conversations and time with Kathryn. I owe you dinner too ;)
@Bill Exeter who just spent time with me on the phone to answer some questions about holding title as beneficiaries of a trust. Bill is highly knowledgeable, has a great reputation, and will be the first person I go to with any 1031 exchange or corporate trustee needs.
for their great advice, amazing depth of experience, help and postings on BP (including the "cat litter flip!", podcast interviews, and being the headline speakers at my Summit on Nov 15th & 16th at SFSU! Will, you should speak with @Jared Rine if you're looking if you're looking for funding. He has a lot of interesting loan terms available..
@Johnson H. , for introducing me to BP, and inspiring me that a full-time employee, who travels, in my industry, can still get lots of deals done ;) And for continuing to schedule meetups, to get people together. A true stand-up guy!
@Sarah Lam , for organizing the first meetup I ever went to, and inspiring me to start organizing monthly meetups myself (nice seeing you for 2 seconds crossing the street the other day down in FiDi.. ;)
@Amit M.@Jay Hinrichs and @Account Closed (along with Minh) as a reminder of the amazing power of wealth-building through appreciation in RE price, increasing rents, and leverage.. (used responsibly)
@Daniel S. , for offering up his fixer in West Oakland as a venue for my last monthly meetup, great rehab advice, and being an overall good guy.
@Peter K. , who helped arrange back-up private money financing for my last deal in E Oakland, in case my conventional financing fell through. It worked out find, and didn't need the financing, but appreciate it anyway! Definitely was going to buy that deal, come hell or high water!
I know I'm either forgetting or don't have the time to spend a thousand hours thanking everyone who has had an impact on my investing.. Thank you all!
@J. Martin - Thanks for the shout out. Glad that BP has been so helpful for you. These days I think you have surpassed me in your investing. Looking forward to many more years of fun real estate investing!
@Aaron Barberwho has established a local REI club and meetup in our hometown. There used to be NOTHING! Now we have a venue and even guest speakers. Thanks, brother.
Even though I can't always attend I still appreciate what it took to start it and what it takes to keep it going. We in little Wenatchee are better off because of you!
@Joshua D. -for keeping this site running. a resource for the real estate investor

I needed help with purchasing a home on the HUD online site. I am not HUD certified agent. I put a message out on the forums looking for HUD certified agent to help me bid.
@Samuel Getant responded to my request within minutes and bid on the home for me. I did get the home and it was a great remodel. Have to get pics up soon.
