mortgage and refinancing for US non-residants
Hi BP,
I am looking to invest in my first investment property (SFH) in the Sacramento area. I am originally from India and have been living in US for over a decade now. I am on an H1B work visa. I am planning to move back to India in the next few years. I currently work in tech and hopefully will continue to do so from India.
My question is, when I move back, will I still be able to refinance my existing property in Sacramento or secure new mortgages from US lenders? I won't be maintaining any residency status (not a citizen or a Permanent resident) but will still be filing US taxes for the income generated from my existing investments.
