Underwriter is responsible for underwriting high yield short term (hard money) mortgage loans. This position is based in Los Angeles. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail will be needed to succeed in this position. Background in Residential and Commercial underwriting is a must. Hard Money lending and understanding of Crowdfunding is a big plus. Typical loans fund with 5-10 business days. The right candidate must be able to hit the ground running.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

?Performs necessary credit analysis, due diligence, and review of documents for new transactions

?Recognized for good credit knowledge, policy expertise and analytical abilities

?Analyzing loan applications and documentation (including but not limited to credit report, appraisal, tax returns, etc.), gathering pertinent, documents, background information and ensuring that all loans are processed accurately and are properly documented

?Ordering appropriate appraisal & title

?Providing excellent customer support by making required communication to ensure both internal and external client satisfaction and in turn, referral business

?Having a smooth work flow by enforcing and improving if need be the process set in place

?Handling a high volume of loans and multitasking between e-mail, phone and internal clients

?Have customer contact and be involved in making recommendations on appropriate loan structures

?Writing up detailed property and developer profiles for the website.

Qualifications

?BA and completion of a major corporate bank credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience)

?Minimum of 3 years experience in banking/lending experience.

?Must possess 2 or more years of experience in commercial lending

?Must possess knowledge of the following loan products:Residential & Commercial Loans, Construction Loans, Rehab Loans

?Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted underwriting practices of the company

?Demonstrated strong verbal and written skills, interpersonal skills, and analytical and problem solving skills

?Ability to work under fast paced, start-up environment
