Selling Property with Challenging Tenants
Hi BP, I'm currently in the middle of marketing and selling a rental unit and the tenants are not being cooperative during the process. Last minute cancelations on agreed up on dates for walk throughs, ect.. I have provided them the ability to move out, if desired, before the end of their lease, which they are taking me up on and moving out a month early. They are asking for me to waive their last months rent (last month still in the unit), citing previous maintenance issues (all which were addressed and remediated extremely quickly, along with a $500 deductible) and how having to move out a month early is cause for additional financial / personal stress. Essentially, they want a month free or they won't cooperate.
Any guidance on how folks have navigated this situation?
Thanks!
