Insurance question for STR

Jon Kay
Posted

What are good insurance options while renting on STR?
I heard that traditional home insurance is not enough.
Any thoughts based on personal experiences?

You need insurance specifically for short term rentals. A lot of companies that do standard home insurance are getting into the STR business, but also check out Proper Insurance, as mentioned, and Foremost, Cbiz and other that specialize in it. They also offer bed bug coverage, lost income coverage, and will provide coverage if you supply bicycles, kayaks, or other equipment to guests. So compare apples to apples.
