Does Troy have any reviews?  I hosted a family on VRBO last year where a member had a terminal illness.  It was booked by a charity similar to Make a Wish, and the representative had (25) 5 star reviews.  Plus I googled them and saw the person booking was an officer of the charity and it was legit.

He has 9 reviews with latest being in august of 2021. None of them appear to be related to refugees and a few of them are stating a different name. I've asked to have a quick chat with him to see if anything seems off.

 I also know Airbnb does not like third-party bookings, unless the guest staying is added to the reservation, or the person booking is signed up for Airbnb for Work.  https://www.airbnb.com/help/ar...  So you might ask Troy how he will handle that.

Hey @Jesse Crawford. Can this person provide the actual charity he works for?

I am very suspicious of these sorts of requests. We get a ton of fake bookings from both VRBO and AirBNB so unless I can verify every last detail, I would say no.

Before I did anything, I would want to know who he works for and call them directly. If they won't provide the info, drop 'em.

Thanks @Michael Baum & @Lauren Kormylo! I spoke with the Troy the guy placing the family and he seemed legit and did add the guest to the account. They are also affiliated with Airbnb.org so it seems to be okay. I'll report back after the booking which is tomorrow through Tuesday.

@Michael Baum - @Lauren Kormylo - @Leslie Anne Morris Update - Check out was this morning and the stay went well. The only oddity was that the washing machine appears to have been unplugged mid cycle but no issues after walking my cleaners through a little troubleshooting. Jewish Family Services of Colorado did a good job in facilitating the stay and walking the guests through the property
ensuring they were comfortable. Best of Luck!

Gratz @Jesse Crawford! So glad things went well. About the washer, who knows why guests do what they do. One guest put all the stuff on the various bathroom countertops in the back of the cabinets. No idea why.
