How do people pay their cleaner and handyman for STR upkeep? Per turn, or do you have people on call and upon pay a salary ?

Would also love any tips for finding these people. Looking to buy an STR in Galveston, Texas.

I would just venmo contractors after they are done and they shoot you a few photos.  Once you gain a level of trust with them, you will probably skip the photos.  Keep in mind that are you obligated to send a 1099 for any contractor that you pay over $600 in a year. Not a big deal, but you will need a W-9 for each one, and it's best to get that out of the way first.

Finding contractors isn't too hard.  I would start with the Galveston talk FB page and work my way from there.  I am sure there is a community FB page of vacation rental owners in Galveston - it will just take some scratching. Her is the Galveston Talk page:
