Bigger Pockets Stays just posted a great Blog about the best short term rental markets 'STRs' in every state.

In first and second place in Oregon were two coastal cities that are usually high on investors' lists of interest:

Rockaway Beach Oregon - A hallmark of PNW STR investment, Rockaway Beach instituted a STR CAP last year that until a threshold is reached - only actively operating STR licenses can transfer.

Cannon Beach Oregon - The iconic destination hosts one of the top hotels in the world and a very high barrier to entry for short term rentals. In fact - with rare exception most stays are limited to one occupancy every 14 days. As a result - rarely do STRs in the area cash flow, but they can help offset ownership costs in one of the most photographic and stunning beaches on the West Coast. With that said there are eligible properties just outside city limits that are not subject to STR restrictions.

Other Oregon STR areas of note:

- Brookings

- Bandon

- Florence

- Seaside

- Depoe Bay

- Waldport

- Manzanita

- Mt Hood

- Bend
