Bigger Pockets taught me my first step into real estate through house hacking. I currently own an owner occupied duplex in which the second unit is rented through Airbnb. Thus far I have been fully booked!

Keep an eye on City of Detroit statutes regarding STR's as they keep making it more difficult.
Also, be sure to start networking with other investors!
