RE Investor Newbie

Cheryll Trower
Posted

Hello, My name is Cheryll, and I am in the Hampton Roads Area in Virginia. I am new to Investing, and I am still working a W2. I am actively educating myself and learning more and more. My ultimate goal is to not be working a W2 in the next 3 to 5 years. I am looking forward to  networking, learning and growing.

@Cheryll Trower,

Hi Cheryll! Welcome to the community - you're in the perfect place to learn and build momentum.

As you continue educating yourself, I’d recommend:

1. Pick a strategy early (long-term rentals, house hacking, or STRs work well for beginners).
2. Connect with local and virtual investors - your network will unlock deals and insights.
3. Start analyzing deals weekly, even if you’re not ready to buy yet - it sharpens your instincts.

Excited to see your journey unfold - let me know if you ever want to discuss goals, markets or deals side by side! Always here to help.

Best of luck,

Melissa
