New Member Diving into the STR Space

Mark Wagner
Posted

Hello everyone,

It's great to meet you all. I have been soaking up all the wisdom (specifically STR related) being put out by BP. I want to up my game and start engaging with this community.

I have decided to take the dive into the out of state, STR space. Unfortunately, CA does not currently seem like the most attractive market in this space. The following markets are where I am doing the most digging:

- Stevenson, WA

-Weaverville, NC

Besides the BP Market Analyzer, what sources do folks prioritize for researching specific markets? Additionally, beyond this community what are your daily go to's to stay up to speed on the world of STRs (obviously realize there will be very market specific answer as well as broader ones). Excited to interact and learn from this group!

Best,

Mark

Hey @Mark Wagner,
Make sure your numbers make sense, factor in cleaning, vacancy, maintenance, and management. Always check local STR rules before buying. Optimize operations to save time and costs, and small upgrades like smart locks or quality linens can noticeably boost your income. Track occupancy, rates, and cash flow constantly to stay ahead.
