Tax question on renting a property

Vasily Voronin
Posted

Good day, everyone. My name is Vasily. I’m an Australian real estate agent, and I own a property in Texas using an Australian discretionary trust. I put that property into a Trust just recently, in January this year. I have never rented it out, a family member lived there for many years. Soon I will rent it out. I pay a yearly tax on property in January each year according to the appraised value.

I have a few questions.

  1. What other taxes do I need to pay in Texas and on the Federal level (US Federal income tax) as a Foreign entity Trust?
  2. How and where should I register to pay tax?
  3. What forms do I need to submit, and is it possible to do it online 1040NR or 1120-F (or both)?
  4. When do I need to submit all that and pay the yearly tax?
  5. Do I need to pay any taxes during a financial year?

Thank you for your help.
