Active Duty looking for first home

Hello All,

I am new to the BP community I have watched a good amount of podcasts and other videos from BP on youtube. I'm in the military and getting PCS'd to Tampa. I'm currently in training til May, but my wife is already in the area. She will be seeing two houses we have in mind in person on next week and our real estate agent advised us to get pre-approved with someone in another office at the same building she work with it only taking 15 minutes. I assume it's a big firm. I'm a little hesitant on doing so because I wanted to try applying with other lenders at the same time since they do credit score checks. Should I wait after the viewing? I was going to look into going with NFCU or USAA but I've read some bad stigma around BP that it's not advisable to use them.

Sorry for so many questions. Just a newbie here trying to get the good deal for his first deal. Thank you for your time!
