Basement height too short

I Just learned my basement height is below 7' and was trying to explore options. I have tried to go down the digout path but there isn't enought space under the slab. Is there any contractor you have worked with and can recommend and do you have any idea how much an underpinning could cost in DC

Recommend attending some dc meetups and speak to people who have done this, it’s not cheap and I think last person who mentioned this to me was six figures depending on surroundings and how much underpinning was required

Not sure of your layout but it might cheaper to do a dormer or addtion.
