It's been a long road, but I've finally paid off one of my mortgages TODAY.

The good thing about this loan is that I took it over "Subject to" many years ago and the owner of the loan had already paid it down some(the best way to buy).  I've always felt it best to pay more on my mortgages because I know I'll eventually get that money back one day, when I sell.  Plus I increase my monthly income tremendously with no more loan payments...    I also thank Lifeonaire that kinda showed me that it is possible to not only paid down debt, but actually pay debt off, a concept that I didn't think about till a few years ago.  Here are the bank tellers at Old Point Bank taking my last payment.  I'll never see you guys again...  BP, thnx for all of your support over the years and let's get out of debt my fellow investors....

    Good for you, @Kris Haskins.

They have a tradition in Scotland. Once you pay your mortgage off, you paint your front door red.

Basically, letting the whole neighborhood know. "I own this in the clear, mothertruckers, check out my sexy red door. BOOM!"
