Apple is tacking $100 billion of new investment onto the $500 billion it has already committed. They reaffirmed their commitment to their Billion-dollar 2nd campus in Austin and said it is working with Applied Materials and Samsung in Austin on a new way to manufacture chips. The process, Apple said, has never been used before anywhere in the world.

As part of the new investments, Apple said it plans to hire 20,000 people in the U.S. over the next four years, mostly for roles in R&D, silicon engineering, software development and AI and machine learning.
