Hello,

My wife and I were on the fence on going. But decided to jump in both feet. However, we started registration with GA and we purchased the pro membership. But now it won't let us change to the pro plans. I emailed

BPCON At globaleventteam.com

for assistance but I'm worried that I won't hear back until after the early bird pricing ends today.

Is that the correct email or is there someone else I should be reaching out to?

 Hey Diego!

Try clearing your cache or starting over in an incognito window! It's likely your browser is just remembering the GA registration before you were Pro members :)

They should rename it Ripoffcon.  Has a better ring to it.

You realize this is the cost for your ticket for the event, your room, all your food and drinks and activities on the resort right? It’s an all inclusive vacation plus the conference. Kind of a no brainer for cost when it comes to all that. Don’t diss it just because you can’t afford to go.

If you're justifying the cost because it's all-inclusive, then it's a rip off. I can go to Mexico (Yucatan) and spend less than $200/day and have an amazing time, in awesome hotels, eating fantastic authentic food, drinking until I'm wasted and going on multiple excursions.

Go to BPCON because you think the conference has value. These conferences are for leaning, but most importantly they are a networking tool. If you have no reason to network and learn, then don't go.

Ok I have been in commercial real estate for 20 years. I have been at this site from very early on and watched it change over the decades.

I would not say a BP convention has no value. It just has different values to different people based on the point in their investing careers.

People that already have high wealth for many it's not the best use of their time. It's more for the starters making the first million or two. Back in the old days on here we learned on the forums and put into practice there were no conventions. The cost of a convention folks to put one on is very high. To sell tickets often conventions pack as many speakers as possible to prove value.

I used to go speak at conventions ( not BP ). They were investors doing side BP conventions before it was an official thing and when you have 30 to 45 minutes to speak it's just not a very long time. I like to vacation with family. I don't like to mix business but that is just me and my values. To others it's a 2 for 1 kind of thing. I would not go to Mexico for free with all that crime and gangs.

I found I can be interviewed on 10 different podcasts shows from the comfort of my house and they do all the editing and promoting the episode to their followers. I have maybe 14 hours into the 10 shows of time.

I do think these conventions ARE GOOD for newer people wanting total immersion on a bunch of different topics to see what peaks their interest and to make connections with others. Some people need a bunch of connection for motivation and others are self-starters needing very little to get going. Both are fine just different in approaches. Just like investments there are tons of ways to exist and do business.

Time can change people. As you age money becomes less of a number one spot motivation to experiences and memories. Working long hours tends to lose it's luster.

Being in the NNN space for commercial for passive wealth I have talked with thousands of millionaires over the decades on the phone and built lasting relationships. You get to talk to all age groups and walks of life. You hear their life stories and learn so much more about life than another dollar.

I get the hunger to escape the rate race wanting more. That was me 20 years ago with not 2 pennies to rub together. That was also similar to Josh starting this site trying to get ahead. Everyone wants a better life for themselves and their families. It's human nature.

The first million is the hardest. The next couple million tend to get easier. The reason is you have knowledge and experience and tend to mess up less and make more informed decisions. You tend to have breathing room to cover living expenses and more time to think on next investments to scale and grow the portfolio.

That's very hard to do when trying to scratch and claw to get a start wondering where money is coming from to eat and pay the bills to survive another day. Money means nothing without your health, time, and family to enjoy. I have seen wealth at all different levels. At the core when you strip the money away people are the same. They did research with poor to middle class people and the wealthy.

About 85% said the same thing they valued memories and happy experiences with friends and family. They wanted people to think well of them being a good person. That is what fulfilled them regardless of net worth levels. People want a purpose and to be happy day to day. Becoming wealthy doesn't change their core it can just help them live their ideal life on a daily basis. I am living proof of that.

So if you see value in the convention then go for it. Have a great time and make connections.

I might eventually do a convention solely on NNN I put on but it will be in GA.

Bigger Pockets is more global now. It's not worse or better just different how it has evolved over the decades.

Quick question about pricing.  My wife and I just purchased our airfare so we 100% plan to attend.  I am a BP member but not a pro member currently.  What is the difference in price for the trip as a guest vs. a pro member?  Trying to see if it would make sense to just become a pro member depending on the discount of the event.

 Hi Paul,

I'm very excited to meet you and your wife this year at BPCON!

Attached is the pricing guide breaking out the GA - Standard and Pro Member - Standard rates. It depends on which room you are looking at reserving, but this guide should have everything you're looking for!

Please let me know if there is a specific room you are inquiring about, or if you have any other questions I can assist with!

If anyone is thinking about going (and HAS NOT bought a ticket) and wants to share a room let me know.  Originally booked for 2 people (with 2 beds) but looks like my second won't be able to attend (check in Oct 4 & check out Oct 9).  We would split the price and I could change the 2nd attendee to whomever.  Let me know your thoughts.  Thanks

Don from BP reached out to me via phone call which was really helpful.  The annual BP Pro membership if paid in full is $390.  The discount to BPCON is $450.  It only makes sense to buy the pro membership if you plan to go to BPCON and aren't a pro member already.  I am posting this just so others can see this to possibly help them increase their benefits yet save money at the same time.

Hello BiggerPockets Community,

I am thinking about attending the BPCON in Cancun.  This would be my first BPCON attendance.  Has anyone attended in the past and can comment on the experience...is it worth it?  Did you walk away with real world knowledge or was it just another rah, rah speech?  I have attended many conferences for the hospitality industry in the past and they were all just another big party with nothing to learn.

I love Cancun but don't want to spend money on a conference that is just a party.  I could do that on my own time.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

 Hey Victor!

Last year was my first BPCON and I gained so much value from it. I made a post about it here at the conclusion of the event if you want a quick read. I've kept in touch with a number of attendees and we continue to hold each other accountable on our investment endeavors that we spoke about almost 9 months ago.

Not only was the networking extremely valuable in pushing me forward, but I can honestly say after attending numerous conferences (like you!) the content that the speakers present is top of the industry. I am not just saying this as a representative of the company, and can honestly tell you that you will get everyone's 100% buy in and not being left feeling like you need to pay more to join a course, seminar, etc. after the event concludes.

You will gain an absolute abundance of knowledge from different professionals in the investing space around numerous topics and will certainly add like minded attendees/speakers into your close networking sphere to propel you forward like I did.

Hi Noah;

For as much as I want to attend the BPCON, I had plans for a while back during this time.  I would like to watch how my schedule will be for another event such as this to go to.  I would love to be part of an event BP holds so I could know how it feels to be in a group of like minded people.  Although I am not considered Big Pocket material (financial wise) but I know I can do it with this community's help.  Have a blessed weekend.  God bless.

Thank you for the 1 vote of confidence for it means a lot.  One is better than nothing from a lost real estate investor wannabe like me. I am looking forward to being part of your community.  If you feel I can benefit from the Passive Pocket; then I need more details on it before jumping in not knowing what the circumstances are? I am merely being cautious of what I do; because I need success not failure.  I know reading of all your services; I am confident that I can survive within your community with the right guidance.  Have a pleasant day.  Thanks again gentlemen!
