Dealing with Predatory Water Damage Restoration Company

Hello – I am looking for advice about how to deal with a predatory water damage restoration company. They are trying to charge us $4000 for cleaning up standing water in our property, which we agreed to have them do on the phone verbally. They sent 2 people to the property for 2 hours to do this, as verified on our Nest camera. We estimate the total size of the water treated is 300 SF. There is no contract for this or any further services. Without our authorization, they left drying equipment in the property, and tried to charge us $578 per day for leaving it there. They never came back to monitor the equipment.

Would appreciate any advice on fair value of extracting water for 2 hours with 2 people. That is what we intend to pay them.

Regards,

Mike
