How Do I Find Lenders and Other Investing Professionals?

This may seem like common sense but always start looking for professionals to help grow your business by asking successful Real Estate Investors for referrals, referrals, referrals!

If someone you know and trust has a good lender, title company, contractor, Realtor, etc.. why not start there.

Ask other real estate investors you know, Who funded their last project? or Who did such a nice job renovating this house for you?

Pretty straight and simple, right? This is always a great way to start.

If you are newer to the industry or the area than you want to start attending local Real Estate Investment Association (REIA) groups and Meetup groups.  There are lots of these in all areas and these groups are only focused on real estate investing. Start there— and find service providers that have a local presence.

There’s nothing better than running into a professionals who is in one of these meetings, either speaking or attending. You know they’re motivated for business, local, and actually doing business because they’re showing their face and they’re in front of people in these groups.

If you have no look at Meetup Groups, than try searching the internet for Hard Money Lenders, Real Estate Investing Contractors, Investor Friendly Title Company's; etc... See how their internet presence is. Obviously they need to be local to you because they need to have the resources to help you with transactions in your area. However, if they have an internet presence, either through SEO purposes or internet marketing, you know that they're savvy, active, and in the market place right now.

One quick rule of thumb, make sure you meet any type of service provider— contractor, hard money lender, etc... Make sure you go to their office. If they don’t have an office, they’re probably not a real business. Meet them face to face and make sure you’re comfortable with them.

Anyone you’re doing business with, even if they’re providing you a service, is a partner of yours, and you need to make sure you have a good relationship with them so it’s an ongoing, profitable partnership.
