Do you use a leasing agent to lease your properties?

If you own rental properties, do you currently rent those out yourself or are you outsourcing that out to a leasing agent? We lease our properties through leasing agents and many of our friends with multiple properties do the same. We’re going to tell you why you should consider doing the same.

Leasing agents can do the heavy lifting like pre screening tenants, showing the property, and if the property is in an area with government subsidised programs they may be able to navigate that better than you may be able to, especially if you have properties that overlap in several counties.

If you’re in the higher end price point, sometimes it makes sense to do it yourself. You can use tools like Zillow, Craigslist and Hotpads.. It makes a lot of sense to get it onto a multiple listing service too. If you use a real estate agent and have access to MLS it gives you the means to show it to hundreds of thousands of people.

I’m curious to know what you do. Most people I know outsource to a leasing agent because it allows them to spend more time doing other things that are more productive. Share your opinion, I’d love to hear it!
