Thanks Scott K. Investing in Michigan would be ideal since I know the Metro Detroit area well. I came across a podcast that discussed investing in multiple states. I learned that there are lots of options for investing. So, I have given some thought to starting out with my first property in MI and staying for the required year and then moving.

Thanks for the feedback Erik Nowacki.

Thanks Gregory Dickerson Jr.

Lots of great information Paul Timmins! Many thanks

Hi everyone. I am excited to have come across such a wonderful community dedicated to REI. I've been listening to the podcasts, reading the blogs, ebooks, & forums. I hope to soon be able to add value to this community as I get my feet wet and start my journey in investing.

From all that I've learned so far, multifamily properties seem to be a great way for me to start. Michigan is currently my home and has been for most of my life. However, I am planning a move to the warmer weather. I'm looking at San Diego and Dallas and the RE market will be a major deciding factor. Any advice from investors in these areas will be greatly appreciated.
