@Patricio P.

That sounds like a wise course of action. I did something similar before taking action myself. Best of luck in that NorCal market!

Thanks David! I was not / am not quite ready for that plunge yet. This is my way getting further into the industry, building contacts, and gaining experience. Going it solo is the next step but right now I like where I am and what I'm doing ... Are you planning on starting your own investment company straight away?

Thanks! Just by searching the web for real estate investment/acquisitions companies with positions that sounded interesting. I had never hear of another company in CA that do what they do so I applied ... Yes I will definitely still be investing on my own. I hope to be able to get another small rental soon but we will see ... How about you Patricio, how is your fixing and flipping business coming along? Its great you are looking to jump into it.

I was raised in San Diego, CA. Went to UCLA to study Mechanical Engineering. After graduating I worked at Southern California Edison (the power company) as an Engineering in their technology labs for 4 years. It was an enjoyable position but I realized pretty quickly that I was not meant to be an engineer. While working I pursued my own real estate investments and had some minor success (wholesaled a few deals, bought a rental, and flipped a small commercial lot). So after I decided to drop engineering I knew real estate was the field for me. Now I work for New Western Acquisitions, a small acquisitions firm that sells distressed single family homes to investors who want to fix and flip them for a profit. It is a great company to work for as I am able to help fellow investors find deals and achieve their investing goals.
