Another option you could look into would be installing a lap siding such as hardi over the top of the current exterior. Just a matter of furring out to match the depth of the beams and sheathing and going over the top of it. The cost in my opinion would be similar to removing and re stuccoing. You would only need to do the front to cover the beams and then paint to match.
