I am managing around 140 units and growing quick. With my new property management software, the business is running much more smooth. We have efficient systems in place for taking in apartment leads and maintenance calls. Looking for someone who could use Propertyware to track expenses and reconcile books. Very flexible schedules and pay. And working remote is preferable.

Beverly, I do a lot of rentals in Scranton. They are mostly multi-families that have been rehabbed. Let me know what you pick up. A few friends have been active recently in the market and we always have interest in buying.

Thanks,

George,

Good to hear some new blood coming into the game. Are you investing in Dunmore area? That is a great market. Dunmore has benefited for Scranton's failures.

I am heavily weighted in the Scranton market and could offer you any advice with this area and anything you need.

Good luck!

Craig,

I found it funny that you were able to pull up my links. These cases were mine. I sued the City for excessive fees for rental registration. Last week council has repealed all of its previous rental ordinances for rental registration. The new rental registration passed has removed all property inspections as well as the $150 per building fee. The good news is that we have won our class action case and the City has conceded with this new ordinance. But the funny thing is that I still have the injunction which means the city cannot collect any more funds for registration until this case is completely resolved which is most likely a year.

Secondly, we are about a month away from filing the same class action case against Scranton for its excessive garbage fees. We feel fees should be cut from $300 per unit to $150 per unit. This is a significant to all property owners especially multi-property owners.

Scranton is a disaster at the moment but I have great faith in its future potential. As I am very political, it will take the right leader to turn us in the forward direction.

Phil, Use Lackawanna county.org. Click on assessor's inquiry. Here you can search properties It tells you how much the land and improvements are valuated at. Then you need to use the 2016 tax millage rates to multiply out the valuations. This will give you the tax amounts.
