My wife and I are looking to buy our first property to house hack in between Salt Lake City and Provo in Utah but haven’t found anything where we can rent our part of the house or duplex to where he renter is covering more than half the mortgage since home prices are so high right now. Any tips on strategies to use or places to be looking for deals on single family or small multi family?

We’re open to rehabbing a property just don’t want to get too in over our heads our first time around.
