Post: Rookie in San Diego!

Hey Everyone, I've been thinking about/toying with getting into real estate investments for a while, but am finally getting serious. The ocean is vast so it's slightly overwhelming right now but I'm hoping to learn a lot and take the plunge as opposed to staying paralyzed. While it'd be great to find options local to me in San Diego, this area definitely has a taller barrier to entry than others, so I'm also considering other areas I'm familiar with (Fresno CA, Salem/Beverly MA) as well as others I'm not (San Antonio, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, etc).

I'm currently an engineering manager at a product development firm. The gig is good, but I'm thinking about past that towards financial independence; my goal is to have enough cash flow from properties such that I can have a comfortable latter part of life and also leave something for my family.

Excited to connect with/learn from others!
