Hello - I'm looking to have my basement finished and would like to have some contractors come and provide estimates. If anyone has any reputable referrals please provide it would be greatly helpful. Yelp/Google is way too vast for me to pinpoint and difficult to find reputable ones to build rapport with for future properties.
Some things I will be adding:
- 2 Egress Windows
- Wet Bar
- 2 Bedrooms
- 1 Full Bath (will need plumber to do rough out and concrete/drain work)
- LVP flooring
- Drywall or Drop Ceiling w/ some bulkheads
Post: Looking to Connect and Network with Experienced Rental Property Investors

Hi All - I just purchased my first SFH back in Dec 2024, and just recently started working on renovating it to become a rental in Gaithersburg, MD. Felt like I needed to just get myself started so I just went for it. I do think I got a pretty decent deal on it with our current market conditions and interest rates, but I plan on this to be a Buy and Hold.
I will be house hacking it initially while renting rooms, but ideally would like to just rent the whole place together later on as a LTR. There is an unfinished basement that I will also be finishing, so I would love to hear any recommendations, advice, or lessons learned on that as well.
I'll be looking to build my portfolio and invest in more Real Estate after I finish renovating my current home and will be looking at both in-state and out-of-state investment opportunities. I have some general understanding on everything, but would like to always learn more. I have invested in a few projects as a LP as a passive investor, but I'm looking to be more active and learning the industry more.
Hoping to join any networking events, meetups, etc with like minded people and learn the ins and outs of the whole space.
I’m hoping to connect with experienced investors who might be willing to share feedback and provide mentorship.
Looking forward to connecting and growing with you all!
