Hello everyone and let me thank everyone in advance for your input and help.
I am very new to real estate but thought I may have a opportunity to do something with my fathers basement and my mothers house. They are both in very good areas in the southern MD area. So let me explain both and get input about what I should do and how I should go about it.
My father wants to rent out his basement. It is in Temple Hills, MD which is literally 5min from northern VA and DC. It is also only 5 minutes from the National Harbor. It has 1 bedroom but it could be made into 2 maybe. i say maybe because the other room has no door or windows which I'm thinking could be a safety hazard with no windows if it is made into a bedroom. We were thinking to rent it out but we are not sure how to go about finding a good tenant and do not have much experience other than renting to family members a few times. Any help is greatly appreciated. If anyone has or knows good tenants in this area lets connect and make something happen!!
My mothers house is going into foreclosure and is way behind on payments. An attorney told her she wouldn't have to be out until after summer 2016 I'm guessing because the courts are backed up with foreclosures. Afterwards she will have to file bankruptcy most likely. I was wondering if their was anything to do to help her get out of the situation. i'm not sure which option would work best but I'm all ears for opinions and questions to get a better understanding. If anyone thinks they can do something with the house and want to connect and work together I'm all ears as well. it is a very nice house in Accokeek, MD. It has a large basement with 2 rooms and 4 bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a sitting room and double doors to enter. It would truly be a waste of all the years she spent in the house to lose it like this.
She can't make payments not because the house belonged to her and my stepfather but they aren't together anymore and she kind of got stuck with it. Any help or anyone willing to connect is greatly appreciated!!!

Hello. I am trying to obtain my license in Virginia. I will be working in the northern Virginia area. I was wondering if there was any experienced people in this area who deal with commercial properties (selling, leasing, or managing) who need an assistant? I am looking to learn the ropes and think I can benefit greatly from working with someone. I am willing to do all the tedious tasks you probably don't like doing and anything else to make your job easier help me learn. I am a very hard worker just looking for guidance.

Hello everyone this is my 1st post. I am new to real estate and have just completed my 60 hour class in order to be eligible to take my license exam. From the education i received in the class I think the route i want to take in the real estate market is property management and investing.
A little bit about myself. I am 25 year olds and a Maryland native. i currently live between Maryland and Virginia staying at my home in Maryland and my long time girlfriends home in Virginia. When I was 22 I began my own iPhone app development company and still work on it a lot of the time. The money was so up and down I decided I needed something else as well. I have always had an interest in real estate but never had the start up cash or knowledge to get started.
I am interested in learning how successful property managers and/or real estate investors got started? Also would love to connect with anyone from the Northern Va or Southern MD area that is in this field. I hope I can learn from someone more experienced in my area as to how the process works and some good advice to help me. Thanks for having me and best wishes to you all!!!1
