@Auryana Faramarzi we started December 2020, purchasing, renovating and applying for permits. We did all permit application online because of Covid at that time. Sara Lopez from Big Bear City Hall was very helpful and very responsive. We started the business with a property management company. They were able to rent the cabin through airbnb. We want to do it by ourselves now so we can market it more. The City of Big Bear has stricter rules to protect the residents and the beautiful forest. We don’t mind the rules because our cabin is our second home. And we like how peaceful our neighborhood is, we’ll help keep it that way.

Good morning BiggerPockets community. We have a cabin in Big Bear Lake. We initially had it fully managed but now we decided on doing it ourselves. Any advice and/ or guidance you guys can share, we’ll greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Our first investment is an STR in Big Bear Lake CA, the closest four season mountain resort in Southern CA. We got a great deal, bought the cabin last December 2020. Rehabbed for a few months. Next, great cash flow by Renting. As for now, appreciation is phenomenal. With equity in our side, Refinancing and Repeating the process is next. Thank you Biggerpockets for all the tools and education. We still have a long and fun journey ahead. We are super excited.
