Mike,

I would call Michael Smeriglio III.  Located in Greenwich on River Rd.  He serves us well on our real estate aquisitions.

Best,

Anthony

Mike,

It sounds like you have your plans and just need a stamp to push this through.  I pull a dozen permits in Greenwich a year, its very simple to amend this.  You will just need the engineer to size the beam, sign off on it in a letter.  I would start with the engineer before an architect.  Ryan (above) mentioned one of the premier residential architectural firms in the area if not United States.  While a great firm and excellent choice for design, you will not need there expertise.  Call  Carl E. Ruspini, M.S., P.E.

RUSPINI CONSULTING ENGINEERS  Pepper Street Monroe, CT 06468 you can look it up I cannot post phone numbers on the forum. Let him know I gave you the info.

He will come to your place, size the beam, draw a quick sketch, issue a letter to to you and the town and you can amend.
