I am looking to diversify my portfolio of RE investments after investing near Austin TX. Considering Research triangle area in and around so that rentability is good and looking to potentially have appreciation in the future. I tried to do a lot of research on the rental market but found mixed information. I also couldn't make sense of the school district and price relation. I am mainly looking for how much rent per sq ft can i expect in and around the area? Any thoughts, resources or experiences would help. TIA.

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased my first rental investment (in a different city than where I live) and hired a property management company. Any tips for long distance landlording from experienced ones? I am looking particularly for information on how to keep a check on the property manager, how to manage expenses or keep an eye on them (I know property managers get a cut from the contractors they hire).

Thanks in advance!
