Thanks, Chuck for your service. My grandfather was a jarhead, and I served 14 years in the AF doing Combat Camera with Marines before becoming disabled. It sounds great! I'm in. When I used to live down that ways, I used to head to Pepperdine every Sunday morning...beautiful drive and beautiful campus. Friday nigh or Saturday night work best for me.

Since VA loans are for owner occupied, they cannot be used for flipping. They CAN be used to buy a multi-unit (2-4) in which you are going to live. This is a way that you can get rental income and still use the VA loan. You also could work the numbers out so that the tenants are paying most, if not all, of your mortgage so you are living there virtually free.

I'm in the LA area, too. I'm an AF Vet and have started working on my real estate business. I've done a few flips in the area and would be more than happy to sit down with you and talk to you about things.
