Isn't Space Command moving to Restone? That's the Hunstville area, if I'm not mistaken.

Glad you're jumping back in Your background and licenses make tackling repairs, flips, or spec builds much easier. A HELOC can fund your projects, but make sure every number is lined up before starting. Many investors have done something similar successfully; happy to connect and trade ideas

Hey Mr. Ahmed,

Yeah, there really isn't much we can't do. We've done flooring, framing, bathroom remodels, roofing, plumbing, etc. After 2008, we just took time to raise our kids. Now they're grown, so we got time to focus on building more wealth!

Hi Barry,

Where are you located currently? It looks like you got out of the game in Mississippi just around the time I was getting into it. I bought my house from HUD a couple of years after I moved to Mississippi. Five years later the recession comes along and I find it is underwater. I figured I could either cry about that or buy up the neighborhood. I ended up with six houses on my street. During the pandemic I moved back to California to take care of my mother who is now 93. I've been selling off my portfolio at the rate of a house a year.

Hey Ms. Susan, I'm down in Hattiesburg area. Not too far from the coast, and about 1.5 hours south of Jackson. It's kinda funny, folks just don't know how cheap some of the real estate is here!

Been out of the game since 2008. Previously was a Realtor in Mississippi, dealing mainly with REO properties. Did a few flips, etc. 2008 hit, got laid off, sold our rentals, etc. Now we're back. Let my real estate license expire, but have gotten contractor license, plumbing license, and hvac license. Now gunning for electrical license. Been looking at getting back into the real estate game now that we're recent 'empty nester's'. Long range goal is to have rental units/apartments for retirement income. Mid-range is develop some actual affordable housing. Short term is fix and flip with building a few small spec houses to sell. How's the HELOC market been lately. Sitting on one house that's paid off, worth about $80k, and another one that is worth about $210k, with only $46k owed. Looking to a HELOC on that one to start flipping. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Being in the poorest state in the union (Mississippi), this has been a topic of discussion for our development team, creating/building affordable housing. Is there a need? Most definitely. However, I believe the right company, operating with a very focused ideology, could make this happen without creating government expenses. At least, that's our goal.

Where are you developing in MS? I’m on the Gulf Coast and looking to get into development and/or affordable housing.

We’re just outside Hattiesburg.

Hey folks. New to the group, but was in the game back before the 2008 recession. I've been a licensed real estate broker in the past, have taken the appraisal courses, but didn't take the test, and now a licensed contractor and plumber, and soon to be electrician and hvac. Also run a small, literally mom and pop, IT business. Wife is the brains, I'm just the muscle..and not a lot of that, lol. We've flipped a few houses in the past, built a few, remodeled a few, etc.  Have a small (less than 1000sq ft) house under contract now, closing soon and can't wait to get to work on it! Y'all have a good day and holler if you think we can help!
