Lance,
Thanks for the speedy response. I've tried calling countrywide and all they gave me is a automated phone number to the REO Department that then asks for a social sec. number and loan number (i have the loan number from the trustee sale sheet but no s.s.n.). I can't seem to get through to a human.

You are correct, my goal is to talk to the Countrywide prior to the home going to an agent.

Anything else I should consider when trying to find the REO/Loss Mitigation (human operated) Section?

Jeff

Hello Everyone!!!

Here's what's going on... My wife and I are in love with the house down the street from where we live(rent). It happens to be in foreclosure and we want it! I just attended the Los Angeles area Trustee's Sale/Auction at the court house steps and no one bid on it - or the other 200 that were going for bid that day. Anyhow, I have an agent that says she's experienced with REO's and what I want her (or preferably me) do is to find out how, where and when I can submit an offer to the beneficiary (Countrywide Financial) directly in hope of buying the home before it makes it to a broker or the MLS. Nothing against the home being listed or agents, we just want a good deal and make sure it doesn't get out to the public. She said shes working on it and it could take some time...

So what can I or should I do? Can I place an offer into Countrywide - and if so, how do I do that? I've gone so far as to call the MERS and find out that Countrywide IS the owner if this home now.

PLEASE HELP!

First time poster,

Jeff
