Hi Mitch,

we will be visiting Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco.

I know that this trip will be more for vacation and so on but over all I´m planing to get in touch with locals and share some information.

To be fair I have not a specific state or city where I´m looking to invest so far.

For me it is important to understand the big picture .. what I mean by that is for example:

what cost will exactly hit me

which state is more expensive and which less - and why

and so on

So I think it is a good way to start here on BiggerPockets :)

first of all I would like to thank you upfront for taking time to read my introduction.

For a better overview I would like to keep the key facts short:

Name: Ben

Age: 33

Location: Germany, Frankfurt

Years in RE: 12

Degree: Master Diploma in Real Estate

At the moment I´m investing my own money in Real Estate in Germany. My private portfolio consist of 3 residential properties worth close to € 1Mio.

During the week I work for a family office, my role is buying and selling commercial real estate (so I´m responsible for the transaction management) - at the moment we focus on bigger Retail and Hotel tickets on the German market.

So why I´m here and what I´m looking for ??

Goal: Invest my private money in US Real Estate - learn as much as I can about the US RE market

RE Type: Best case scenario to start with would be a 4-plex with 3 units rented out and one free unit for my wife and myself (for the time we are visiting)

Equity: $ 300.000 (I´m looking to set up a Real Estate LLC and bring the money into the company)

I will be visiting the US in March 2020 and until than I will read and learn as much as I can to be well prepared.

So I´m very happy I have found this great Forum here and the whole BiggerPockets Homepage!!

I´m looking forward to make new contacts and friends on a completely new continent.
