We don't know who the servicer is, but have been in tough with the listing agent, he says they haven't had any offers on the property. At this point I am looking at other properties in the same general area...

I am interested in paying cash for a short sale, it is a log home that needs tons of work and has been on the market 2 years, apparantly vacant at least that long. We would probably tear it down and build a traditional home on the same basement or sell it to be moved. There are a few rotten logs,  the windows have PL glue in the corners,  the kitchen cabinets and counter tops are just set in place,  carpeting on walls in bedrooms,  piece of plywood for a ceilingin an upstairs room.  All seems to have been pieced together with whatever was handy.  Basement has been mostly gutted as water damage, would need drain tile.  But it has an awesome outbuilding with insulation, heat,  and a party room. Sits on a gorgeous piece of property near awesome fishing lakes.

How do you offer way less than they are asking?  Looked at comps in the area and they are over priced by $30,000 compared to a home that is in great condition but dated.  I have stage 4 breast cancer and am wanting to purchase this as a project/legacy for my family. My husband is a carpenter and does damage restoration work,  so building something isn't going to cost us too much.

I am looking at Flipping to grow a Personal Injury settlement I'm going to be receiving. I need to protect the investment for my sons as I am out of work with Stage IV breast cancer, with the new treatments out there I could be around for quite a while. My understanding is that they may look at Flipping as if I were working and I could lose my benefits. Could I buy and sell as a trust in my sons names? Or does anyone have any other suggestions.

I am contemplating getting into Real Estate Investing. Mainly as a legacy for my sons.
