Thanks for the input.
I understand that the IP address associated with the computer is logged, but when using a router, the IP address of the router itself is the only one that the internet provider sees, so all of the individual users are "hidden" behind that router. The person setting up the router can probably log the users to see which IP address does what, but that's what I'm unsure of. I might have to ask someone with legal expertise, as you mentioned.

I currently have Students residing on my property who are only here for the summer. I want to set up wireless internet for them, but was wondering about liability in terms of what they end up doing online. If I set up a wireless router and give all of them access to it, can I be held accountable if any of the tenants download illegal music or hack a government website or something? How do I protect myself from getting into trouble?
