Post: Houston Flood Damaged Homes - What will happen to them?

Hi Everyone,

Due to the extent of the flooding disaster in Houston, there are going to be a lot of flooded homes. What is going to happen to them? There are going to be many distressed sellers. Many homeowners will want to just walk away from their properties. Will this be a good "subject to" market?

Does anyone have any experience with flooded homes and communities? Is there a possibility to raise these homes 5-8 feet to reduce the future flood risk?

Thanks,

Billy

Hi All, I have 5 rental properties in the suburbs of Chicago - Lansing, Caulmet City, Crete, Rickton Park and Hazel Crest. I am not happy with my current manager because of long vacancy periods, expensive refurbs, late payments and no systems.

Anyone work with a detail orientated property manager with good systems, an eye for expense reduction and timely payments? Thank you in advance.
