Hi Chris, you can't really save much on closing fees as title, title insurance, appraisal, etc it is all fairly standard. May be small savings on credit and background check as you only do it for one property (savings of $25-$100), The only place you can potentially save is legal fee. Depending on a structure of the deal, you can potentially have just one lending contract for two loans and one purchase agreement. We had a similar situation for one of our borrowers but, at the end, the legal docs were a bit more complicated than standard mortgage, so savings was relatively small.
