Hi Andrew.

We would be building a total of (4) attached 2-story dwelling units of which we would occupy (1) of the units and rent the other (3) units.

Yes - The (4) attached townhomes units would be constructed as (1) building.

Does this explanation make my question clearer?

Does anyone know if a new 4-Unit out-of-the-ground quad of attached 2-story townhomes qualify under FHA's Construction-Permanent program if my wife and I owned the 4-unit quad building and occupied one of the townhomes?

Can anyone direct me to an individual or resource that would know this answer?

Your response and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Hi Kevin,

Thank you very much for your prompt response and the website link - helpful.

You're right, I need to speak with someone who can tell me any unit restrictions that may apply and the particular type of FHA loan program this owner occupied 4-unit townhome building would qualify for (if any). I hope FHA Construction-Permanent Mortgage will do it!

All the best - Brad

Does anyone know if FHA will finance a new four unit investment property consisting of 2-story attached townhomes (for rent) if (1) of the units is owner occupied?

If not, what financing vehicle to you suggest?

Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!
