Roth is after tax contributions. You can take out whatever you contributed but not any gains without penalty.

My mom inherited the house from my grandpa and wants to gift her previous house to me. What are the steps to get this done? Would I have to pay any taxes?

sorry to bring this thread back but I got some questions. My property was indeed sold from unpaid taxes. Is my dream of being a real estate investor over? Just checked my credit score and the tax foreclosure wasn't on there. How long does it take and is there anything I can do about it?

thanks everyone for the comments. I just ordered my credit score from credit check total and there wasn't a tax lien on there. The utilities was though and my real score was much lower the credit jar as fake score. Maybe they haven't put a lien on it yet but that's hard to believe after 4 years. I'm going to tackle the issue on Monday as I'm busy all weekend. Thanks again

I made a bad investment on a cheap warehouse in Detroit for my  landscaping business. I paid for in cash for 20k 4 years ago. It's in a very bad area and it got broken into a couple of times. Not feeling safe I moved out and let it go without paying taxes, electricity or the water bill. Now I want to get into real estate investing  and I'm worried about the marks on my credit score. I've never got a loan or checked Fico score before but I've looked it up on credit karma and it wasn't on there. If the city takes it and sells it for the money I owe will it still go on my credit report?
