@Stephen Masek - we are looking forward to being debt free, and second jobs aren't a possibility for a number of reasons; kids, overtime at our primary jobs, etc. Two or three income streams including our careers is really the best bet. 

@Ali Boone - Huntington is awesome, and what kind of plane do you fly? I do customer support for a major aviation co. so I'm always curious what people are flying. I'd like a Cherokee 6 someday, but I think my wife would stick to the airlines.

My wife and I are exploring real estate as an income source to help us pay off our student loan debt and achieve the lifestyle we want. I realized some time ago that I would not be able to reach my financial goals with only a salary, and that setting up multiple income streams seems to be the best bet given my personality and ambitions. Although I enjoy my career, I would prefer not to be financially tied to it.

We have zero experience in real estate and limited capital, however I expect that will change in time. I'm very interested in attending any real estate investment club or association meetings that happen in our area, so please make me aware.
